    OUR HISTORY

    1965


    GN began with the dream of brothers George and Nick Pleša, who established a two-man machine shop in 1965 called George and Nick’s Machine Works.

    1970


    The small machine shop provided machine tools for the oil and gas industry and in the 1970’s it began to specialize in producing unique component parts for the industry.

    1994


    In 1994, Nick took full control of GN and appointed his son, John, as VP of Operations. This paved the way for GN to see a steady increase in growth for the coming years.

    2004


    After over 40 years of service, Nick stepped down as President & CEO in 2004 and John became the next President & CEO of GN. Since then, John has enabled GN to grow into its 115,000 sq. ft. facility which operates out of Airdrie, Alberta, Canada.

    2023


    The Canadian facility and its housing of the world’s most advanced manufacturing technology has allowed GN to not only expand its business within the oil and gas industry, but has allowed for diversification into the automotive, defense, technology, and aerospace industries. The strong relationships developed in these industries between GN and its valued clients has spawned the need for GN to expand its footprint in the form of a second facility. Initially, this second facility will have the same footprint as GN’s Canadian facility. GN’s expansion plans are to be continuous over the coming years; therefore, coming in 2024, we will be introducing GN U.S.A.
